Crystal and Galen first met at Endiro Coffee, Kampala in 2014. At that time, Crystal was finalizing her undergrad while working at Endiro and Galen was working from Endiro as he was setting up Jibu (before Jibu had offices.) They never saw each other outside of the coffee shop, but Crystal got some nice tips whenever she had Galen's table.
After Jibu got offices and Crystal started her after-undergrad career, they didn't see each other for 5years. Then - just as Uganda's COVID lockdown restrictions started to lift - they ran into each other at a restaurant next door to Endiro coffee while Galen was with his friend Joachim and Crystal with her friend Lisa. Joachim and Lisa put in due peer pressure for a date to happen...now here we are.
